【摘要】:Thispracticecoversthepreparation,handling,testing,andprocedureforusingtheethanol-chlorobenzenedosimetrysystemtomeasureabsorbeddoseinmaterialsirradiatedbyphotonsandelectronsintermsofabsorbeddoseinwater.Thesystemconsistsofadosimeterandappropriateanalyticalinstrumentation.Forsimplicity,thesystemwillbereferredtoastheECBsystem.Itisclassifiedasareferencestandarddosimeter(seeGuideE1261).ThispracticedescribesthetitrationanalysisasastandardreadoutprocedurefortheECBdosimeter.Otherapplicablereadoutmethods(spectrophotometric,oscillometric)aredescribedinAppendixesX1andX2.Thispracticeappliesonlytogammarays,Xrays,andhigh-energyelectrons.Thispracticeappliesprovidedthefollowingaresatisfied:Theabsorbeddoserangeshallbefrom10Gyto2MGy(1).Theabsorbeddoseratedoesnotexceed10Gys-1(2).Forradionuclidegamma-raysources,theinitialphotonenergyshallbegreaterthan0.6MeV.Forbremsstrahlungphotons,theinitialenergyoftheelectronsusedtoproducethebremsstrahlungphotonsshallbeequaltoorgreaterthan2MeV.Forelectronbeams,theinitialelectronenergyshallbegreaterthan4MeV(seeICRUReports34and35).Note1-Thelowerlimitsofelectromagneticradiationenergygivenareappropriateforacylindricaldosimeterampouleof12-mmdiameter.Correctionsfordosegradientsacrossanampouleofthatdiameterorlessarenotrequired.TheECBsystemmaybeusedatenergiesofincidentelectronslowerthan8MeVbyemployingthinner(inthebeamdirection)dosimetercontainers(seeICRUReport35).Theirradiationtemperatureofthedosimetershouldbewithintherangefrom-40?Cto80?C.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
