【摘要】:Dynamiccushioningtestdataobtainedbythistestmethodareapplicabletothecushioningmaterialandnotnecessarilythesameasobtainedinapackage.Inadditiontotheinfluenceofthepackage,thedatacanalsobeaffectedbythespecimenarea,thickness,loadingrate,andotherfactors.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureforobtainingdynamicshockcushioningcharacteristicsofpackagingmaterialsthroughacceleration-timedataachievedfromdroppingafallingguidedplatenassemblyontoamotionlesssample.Thistestmethoddoesnotaddressanyeffectsorcontributionsofexteriorpackagingassemblies.1.2Thedataacquiredmaybeusedforasinglepointorforuseindevelopingadynamiccushioncurveforthespecificmaterialbeingtested.Curvesareusedeithertopredictperformanceofmaterialsunderuseconditionsorforcomparisonamongdifferentmaterialsatspecificinputconditions.Cautionshouldbeusedwhenattemptingtocomparedatafromdifferentmethodsorwhenusingsuchdataforpredictingin-packageperformance.Dependingupontheparticularmaterialsofconcern,correlationofsuchdata(fromamongdifferingproceduresorforpredictingin-packageperformance)maybehighlyvariable.Note1-AlternativeandrelatedmethodforpossibleconsiderationisTestMethodD4168.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.>
